Although well-known director Scott has explored various film genres, there are some genres like Westerns that he hasn’t ventured into as of yet. Although elements of this genre have appeared in some of his movies, a traditional Western film is still missing from his portfolio. When hinting at his upcoming project, Scott suggested that it might be the most compelling Western script he has ever encountered.

Indeed, I’ve come across an exceptional Western novel, hands down my favorite one yet. It was hidden among the works of a deceased author from his estate. We managed to locate it and now I hold the script in my possession, eagerly anticipating the day when I can bring it to life on screen. However, there are still other projects brewing in my mind – a musical, a pirate movie, another Western. But for now, let’s focus on this magnificent Western tale.

Ridley Scott Has No Plans to Retire Any Time Soon

Scott chose not to disclose the project’s name as there might be other producers eagerly waiting to claim it. Moreover, he shared his plans to keep directing films as long as possible.
