Ridiculous

Fans are already expressing their dissatisfaction with just two episodes into the second season of “1923.” The show is accumulating a number of reasons that some viewers find “unbelievable” or “preposterous.

Indeed, it’s an exciting era for Taylor Sheridan enthusiasts! Although Yellowstone may have concluded its run, its offshoots ensure that the Dutton family remains in the spotlight. A Beth and Rip spinoff is planned for later down the line, but for now, we delve into history with 1923’s Season 2.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and apprehension as a formidable new villain looms on the edge of our horizon. Alexandra is expectantly pregnant, and the specter of tragedy seems to be hanging heavily over the upcoming season. However, some fellow fans and I are finding ourselves growing increasingly frustrated with the developments we’ve been witnessing so far.

If Sheridan’s “cruel” behaviors didn’t already persuade you, Episode 2 offers an additional three “unbelievable” reasons that might lead you to turn it off completely.

Fans are annoyed by 1923 Season 2 for three reasons

Following two installments, viewers have expressed frustration with Season 2 of 1923 due to three key factors: the ongoing saga involving Spencer and the Mafia, Elizabeth’s repetitive portrayal as a damsel in distress, and the series seeming to prolong events excessively.

Let’s examine each point individually. Luca has acquainted Spencer with Mr. Maceo, the leader of Galveston’s mafia network. Now, he’s assisting them, adding another level of stress to the already complicated Dutton situation.

One fan comments, “So, what’s happening next? It seems like he ends up being captured by the Yakuza. If only he had just said something like, ‘Look, when we reach your cousin’s place, all I’m asking for in return for saving your life is a safe passage to a train station.’ That would have only taken two minutes. The scene ends here.

Another person states: “It’s completely absurd. There are lions, a sunken ship with a shark attack, a duel, preventing a rapist, and a fight club. Naturally, mafia is also present. Every over-the-top macho stereotype you can think of.”

The individual expressed that it’s preposterous; they mentioned lions, a sunken ship with shark attacks, duels, stopping a rapist, and a fight club. Of course, mafia is included too. They referenced every excessive macho cliché you could possibly imagine.

Next up, we’ll bring Elizabeth into the storyline. Despite being bitten by a wolf during Episode 2, she’s managed to survive. After undergoing treatment for rabies, she’s not quite the robust, self-reliant woman we’ve come to know yet.

If that girl doesn’t start learning how to use a gun in the next episode, I’ll be really disappointed. It seems like she’s not making much progress, and it’s getting repetitive. She chose to live in difficult circumstances, so it would be great if she could show some growth by picking up new skills. Living with such a strong woman as her mentor offers her a unique opportunity to learn from someone who has faced challenges head-on.

I’ve faced criticism in the past regarding my portrayal of female characters, such as Bella Hadid’s appearance on Yellowstone and that surprising Landman scene. As a fan, I’m always striving to improve and create more nuanced and well-rounded female roles.

Fans are finding it frustrating that the show is progressing at a snail’s pace, as Taylor has stretched out the storyline for two seasons now. Compared to Yellowstone, less action has unfolded in the first two seasons of this series. A fan put it succinctly, “It feels like we could have already brought Spencer and Alex back to the US by now. They’re still miles away.

I’ve learned that Alex will arrive earlier than expected, leaving his family in a state of shock. I’m confident this development is crucial for S3, but we won’t see it until two years from now. Let’s move forward with our plans!

It’s unclear whether more character growth or a shift in tempo will appear in upcoming episodes; it depends on how far viewers progress. The third episode is scheduled for March 9, 2025.
