In a video shared on TikTok by Caitlin McGowan, an individual, seemingly retired, was seen relaxing on a park bench in the coastal town of Oceanside, California.
While I was all by myself, I carried a pack of Pup-Peroni pepperoni treats. Whenever a pooch ambled past me, I’d share one of those yummy treats with them.
Initially, a powerful dachshund ventured near the man, showing curiosity towards a meaty stick. Later on, he rose from his front steps and offered a hearty bite of the meat stick to a barking dog confined within a parked vehicle.
As a few puppies approached him, the man felt incredibly happy and offered them both treats and affection in return.
The TikTok clip garnered an impressive 21 million views and 4.4 million likes, while stirring countless emotional responses from its audience, leaving them moved to comment.
Pup-Peroni responds to viral dog video
“Is anyone else hysterically crying? Or just my extreme empath self,” wrote one.
“Not me sobbing over another complete stranger,” said another.
“The Pup-Peroni brand playfully responded, ‘We’re not shedding tears.’ Influencer Joey Swoll on TikTok and fitness also shared, ‘That’s exactly what TikTok is for.’
Frequent visitors to Oceanside often mentioned spotting a man distributing dog treats multiple times. After sharing these accounts in the comments section, the initial poster announced her intention to present the video she made to this kind man, letting him know just how many folks recognize and value him.
