Resident Evil’s infamous T-Virus going on display in Tokyo

The terrifying T-Virus from Resident Evil is coming to Tokyo, giving fans a unique opportunity to experience one of gaming’s most well-known dangers firsthand.

A first look at a prototype will be revealed in Shibuya on February 14th, as part of an art exhibit exploring the intersection of biotechnology and the scary elements of video games, aiming to make those fears feel more real.

If you’re new to the Resident Evil story, the T-Virus is what causes all the outbreaks and chaos. Created by the Umbrella Corporation, it turns people and animals into dangerous monsters, eventually leading to the fall of Raccoon City.

This installation is a key part of THE AUTHENTIC OFFICE, an exhibition that will turn a lab and workspace in Shibuya into a unique, interactive experience for the public. It combines real technology with the atmosphere of horror stories.

Resi fans will be able to see the T-Virus

A biotech company called LOM BABY is hosting a display featuring a lab-created sample based on the virus from the popular Resident Evil video game series. While the idea might sound scary, the company emphasizes it’s a work of fiction and not a real danger.

The exhibition, held February 13th and 14th, will showcase some unique biotech innovations. Visitors can expect to see things like a supposed energy drink formulated with DNA from the mythical Pegasus to promote wing growth, as well as displays of lab-grown ‘dragon meat’ and a model of artificial alien DNA.

A recreation of the iconic “t-virus” from Resident Evil is coming to Shibuya! Created using cutting-edge biotechnology, a non-pathogenic and inactivated version of the virus has been synthesized and will be displayed in a special capsule at Shibuya PARCO on February 14th. This marks the first time this has been shown anywhere in the world, as part of a collaboration with LOM BABY. #REBH30th
