Capcom announced that after the game releases, Resident Evil Requiem will receive several updates, such as a photo mode, a new mini-game, and additional story content.
Capcom announced on X (formerly Twitter) on March 10th that they’re planning several updates after the game launches. They haven’t revealed much detail yet, but they have confirmed that all three planned additions are currently being worked on.

One of the new features is a photo mode, letting players capture and save any moment they want – whether it’s an action-packed zombie encounter or just a fun screenshot of Leon S. Kennedy.
Capcom announced they’re working on a new mini-game, expected to launch in May. They haven’t shared details about what it will be, but many fans speculate it might be similar to the Mercenaries mode, adapted for the Requiem setting.

This gameplay mode, similar to classic arcade games, has been featured in several recent Resident Evil titles, like the 2023 remake of Resident Evil 4 and the 2021 game, Village. However, it’s also possible this is a brand new addition to the series.
Either way, considering May isn’t too far away, we can expect to hear more about this soon.
The biggest announcement was a story expansion that will explore the game’s world in more detail, according to Requiem’s director, Koshi Nakanishi. While details are scarce at this point, past expansions suggest it could be a separate story focused on a character like Ada Wong, either new or returning.
Released in February 2026, Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth major installment in Capcom’s popular survival horror franchise and has quickly become a hit, selling over 5 million copies.
With players finishing the game’s story, modders are already adding fun and unique changes for those who want to play again.
