With the successful remake of Resident Evil 4 and the recent release of Resident Evil 9, the Resident Evil franchise is currently at its peak and looks set for continued success. Fans can expect plenty of rumors about remakes of older games, and given Capcom’s current approach, those rumors might very well turn out to be true.
Fans are getting excited about the possibility of a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica. While rumors are often just that, there’s growing evidence – including hidden references, or ‘Easter eggs,’ in Resident Evil Requiem – suggesting a remake is likely happening. Recent reports indicate an announcement could be made within the next month, adding to the already strong belief that Capcom is working on it.
According to reliable Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem, a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica is very likely to be revealed at Summer Game Fest 2026 in June. This prediction came after someone asked if Dusk Golem thought the remake would be announced at the event. However, Dusk Golem also clarified they don’t have inside knowledge of Capcom’s marketing schedule, so the reveal isn’t guaranteed.
Honestly, I think it’d be smart for Capcom to show off the story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem at Summer Game Fest 2026 – it’s already on their schedule, so it makes sense. But with all these rumors flying around about a new remake, I’m really hoping they just announce what it is already! If they’ve been working on it for a while, now seems like the perfect time to finally show it off, rumors or not.
It’s unclear if the rumored remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica will actually be announced at Summer Game Fest 2026. However, if the rumors are true, it would be exciting to see what’s revealed, like an updated design for characters such as Claire Redfield.
Instead of a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica, Capcom might announce a remake of another game in the series, like the original Resident Evil or Resident Evil 5. Regardless, no future remake will face the same incredibly high expectations that Resident Evil 4 successfully overcame, meaning each new remake will generate a lot of excitement.
Since the launch of Resident Evil Requiem, the game’s community has expanded significantly, putting a lot of pressure on the next installment. While a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica might not be revealed at Summer Game Fest 2026, the event is still expected to be full of exciting announcements.
