Resident Evil 2 Remake Is Coming To iOS And Mac

As a seasoned gamer who’s been through the zombie apocalypse more times than I care to remember, I can confidently say that the Resident Evil series has always held a special place in my heart (or should I say, hard drive?). The remake of Resident Evil 2 was a masterpiece that truly brought the terror of Raccoon City into the modern era. So, imagine my delight when I heard that this horror classic is finally making its way to iOS and Mac devices!

Back in 2019, Capcom unleashed a breathtaking remake of the iconic survival-horror game, Resident Evil 2, which had first graced our PlayStation screens way back in the ’90s. Now, five years later, it’s our turn to experience the terror all over again, as Resident Evil 2 is finally making its way to iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices!

In essence, the remake of Resident Evil 2 kept close to the storyline of the original game but updated various gameplay elements. One significant change was adopting an over-the-shoulder third-person view for the player’s character. The plot centers around two intertwining stories: Claire Redfield, Chris Redfield’s sister, and rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy as they navigate a zombie infestation in Raccoon City. A key novelty introduced in this remake is Mr. X, a powerful, almost unstoppable genetically modified creature who doggedly chases the player throughout the game.

It’s not just Resident Evil (RE) title that has been transferred onto Apple devices; Resident Evil: Village, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and the remade version of Resident Evil 4 have also been ported over. Interestingly, both Resident Evil 4’s remake and Village are newer releases compared to the remake of RE2.

You can download the prologue of Resident Evil 2 for free from Apple’s App Store. However, if you wish to play the complete game on Apple’s devices, you’ll need to wait until later in the year before immersing yourself in one of the finest Resident Evil games.
