‘Resident Alien’ Season 4 Casts Stephen Root as Harry’s Father (EXCLUSIVE)

It has been exclusively learned that the exceptionally skilled actor, Stephen Root, will make a guest appearance in Season 4 of “Resident Alien.

In a new role, Alan Tudyk will play Harry’s (Root) father. The character description indicates that Root will manifest in human form and encourage Harry to revert to his malevolent extraterrestrial heritage.

The sci-fi series ‘Resident Alien’ was confirmed for a fourth season in June 2024, shifting its home from Syfy to USA Network, another cable channel within the NBCUniversal family. At the time of this writing, the exact release date for Season 4 remains undisclosed. In addition to stars Alan Tudyk and Sara Tomko, the ensemble includes Alice Wetterlund, Levi Fiehler, Meredith Garretson, Corey Reynolds, and Elizabeth Bowen.

Actor Anthony Root boasts a diverse career spanning both television and film. In 2019, he earned an Emmy nomination for best supporting actor in a comedy, recognition for his performance on HBO’s “Barry.” Throughout the series’ four seasons, Root was a central figure. Additionally, he’ll be lending his voice to the revival of “King of the Hill” on Hulu, having previously voiced various characters during its 13-season run on Fox. Other notable TV appearances include “NewsRadio,” “Succession,” “Boardwalk Empire,” and “The Man in the High Castle.” In film, Root is recognized for roles such as those in “Office Space,” “Dodgeball,” “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs,” “Get Out,” and “Trumbo.

The official description of Season 4 of “Resident Alien” states:

In the fourth season, Harry (Tudyk) and his infant Bridget find themselves trapped in the Grey Moonbase’s prison. Meanwhile, an Alien named Mantid, also played by Tudyk, has assumed Harry Vanderspeigle’s identity on Earth. The imposter Mantid continues to deceive everyone as the true Harry manages to break free from the Greys and returns to Earth for a confrontation. However, it seems he might lack the necessary resources to bring this battle to an end. Asta (Tomko) and D’arcy (Wetterlund) grapple with concealing crucial information from Ben (Fiehler) and Kate (Garretson), who are frantic to understand what has transpired. As for Sheriff Mike (Reynolds) and Deputy Liv (Bowen), they are working diligently to unravel the enigma behind a series of perplexing deaths in Patience, which Mike suspects may not have any human origins.

Resident Alien” is a television show that originates from the comics of the same name written by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse (published by Dark Horse). Chris Sheridan, who also serves as an executive producer, was responsible for its development. In addition to Sheridan, Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg from Dark Horse Entertainment, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank from Amblin TV, Robert Duncan McNeill, and Nastaran Dibai are all executive producers.
