Remembering Gene Hackman: A Legendary Career Captured in Stunning Photos!

95-year-old Gene Hackman, tragically discovered deceased along with his wife at their Santa Fe, New Mexico residence on February 26th, was renowned as a remarkable actor in his time.

Throughout a career that stretched over four decades, I was fortunate enough to win two Oscars. The first was for portraying Jimmy “Popeye” Doyle in William Friedkin’s 1971 action-thriller “The French Connection.” The second came when I took on the role of the antagonistic sheriff in Clint Eastwood’s 1992 Western “Unforgiven.” I was also nominated for an Oscar for my performances in “Bonnie and Clyde” (1967), “I Never Sang for My Father” (1970), and “Mississippi Burning” (1988).

Gene Hackman gained fame for portraying Lex Luthor in the 1978 film “Superman” and its sequel “Superman II,” as well as for his roles in “Scarecrow” (1973), “The Conversation” (1974), “Loose Cannons” (1990), “The Firm” (1993), and “Enemy of the State” (1998).
