The trailer for the fourth season of “Hacks” opens with Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), speaking to Ava (Hannah Einbinder) much like a character in “Jurassic Park” addresses a velociraptor. “Look at you, all big and brave,” she says, as they walk down a hallway in slow motion, eventually parting ways. Following the events of season three, the comedian and her former assistant turned head writer have reached late-night television, but their problems are just starting. The on-again, off-again relationship between the two mirrors the 2019 film “Late Night” more closely than ever before, yet “Hacks” still maintains its unique charm, with performances by Megan Stalter as Kayla and a scene where Deborah and Ava race each other on a Las Vegas racetrack. Revving up for another Emmy win after the success of its third season, “Hacks” returns on April 10.
