REinvent International Sales Boards Crime Series ‘The Pushover’ from ‘Fatal Crossing’ Creators (EXCLUSIVE)

At the start of Series Mania festival in Lille commencing March 21st, REinvent International Sales has revealed a new acquisition for the crime series “The Pushover.” This six-part production is adapted from the sixth book in Lone Theils’ popular Nora Sand series, which has been published in over 20 countries such as the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Scandinavia.

The show is a second television remake starring Nora Sand, the acclaimed Danish journalist from the successful series “Fatal Crossing.” It has been distributed to various regions such as the UK/Ireland (Global Series Network/Walter Presents), Benelux (Lumiere Group), Sweden/Finland (TV4), Latin America (Encripta), and France & Germany (Telepool).

Revisiting the duo Arne Berggren and Kristine Berg, directors Magnus Berggren and Marie Sandø star in “The Con Artist”, which unfolds when a woman is discovered dead in her luxurious swimming pool. The prime suspect becomes her boyfriend, Tom, a notorious swindler known for his Tinder scams. However, an unexpected confession from Tom implicates him in fraud but denies involvement in her death, claiming it was an accident. Veteran detective Morten Stark is skeptical of his story and, with no solid proof, decides to play a daring game to expose the truth. Meanwhile, journalist Nora Sand delves into research from a previous colleague and uncovers a history of fraud cases linked to Tom. As they dig deeper, they uncover a horrifying secret and a complex network of deceit, manipulation, and murder, as suggested by the plot summary.

At present, a crime series is being filmed simultaneously in Denmark and Norway. The production company responsible is Shuuto Arctic, with streaming platform Altibox as the primary partner. This project is a collaborative effort also involving REinvent, while Danish broadcaster DR has secured pre-purchase rights for the series in Denmark.

Behind the global acclaim of “Fatal Crossing,” now airing on Arte France, Helene Aurø, director of sales and marketing at REinvent International Sales, expresses her optimism that the latest Shuuto Arctic series will follow a similar international path. She believes that the gripping crime plot in “The Pushover” will resonate globally, predicting that Nora Sand will appear on screens worldwide.

Karin Ulsnes, product manager at Altibox, expressed her excitement about the upcoming series, “which features Nora Sand and is produced by the team behind ‘Fatal Crossing,’ a popular show among Altibox viewers.” The debut of this production on the Norwegian streaming platform is scheduled for autumn 2025.

Right beside “The Collapsible,” REinvent International Sales is participating in Series Mania with a robust lineup, featuring “Reykjavik 112,” “L/over” and “Sami Wedding.” The team led by Rikke Ennis will also be presenting the much-anticipated Norwegian true crime series, “Escaping Bolivia,” at the innovative ‘Buyers Upfront’ event on March 24.
