Today, December 2nd, Rockstar Games released the updated version of Red Dead Redemption for current gaming consoles and mobile devices. However, the launch on Xbox didn’t go as planned and experienced some issues.
Gamers who purchased the original Red Dead Redemption digitally for Xbox 360 anticipated receiving the updated version for Xbox Series X|S at no cost, but discovered it wasn’t automatically added to their libraries.
Rockstar Games knows about the problem and is collaborating with Microsoft to fix it. They’ve thanked players for their understanding.
Red Dead Redemption now offers improved graphics and performance on newer consoles. The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions support faster frame rates, HDR visuals, and resolutions up to 4K. The version for the Switch 2 includes features like DLSS, HDR, and the option to use a mouse for more precise control.
Red Dead Redemption has been updated for modern consoles by developers Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games, working with Rockstar Games. For the first time, the game is also available on iOS and Android devices, and it’s free for all Netflix subscribers.
Red Dead Redemption became available to PlayStation Plus subscribers on December 2nd. Those with a GTA+ membership also gained access to the updated version of the game as part of their subscription.
Besides the updated Red Dead Redemption, there’s talk that Rockstar is also creating versions of Red Dead Redemption 2 for today’s gaming consoles. You can find some great ways to enhance your Red Dead Redemption 2 experience by checking out the mods in the gallery below.
