Reckful’s World of Warcraft account unbanned after 11 years

Previously popular Twitch streamer Reckful’s World of Warcraft account was reactivated following an 11-year ban, with one of his close companions broadcasting a livestream to display the event.

2014 saw a tweet by Byron ‘Reckful’ Bernstein, famously known for his live-streams of World of Warcraft on Twitch, announcing that he had been permanently barred from playing the game.

Hey there, I’ve been playing for a decade, and suddenly, without any prior notice, I was permanently banned. Could I possibly talk to someone about this?” He expressed this in his post.

Swiftly countering the allegation, Blizzard asserted the account was employed for acquiring an edge within the game, thus maintaining the suspension.

To put it simply, account @ByronBernstein (2) is maintaining its actions despite a prior warning for similar behavior, as these actions provide an edge within the game.

Starting from now until June 2025, Byron’s account remained banned. However, in June 2025, it was unbanned and passed to Barry_74, who was a good friend of Reckful before he passed away. To celebrate this event, Barry decided to stream on Twitch, using the legendary World of Warcraft account as the main attraction.

14th of June was when Barry streamed his presentation of Reckful’s Outlaw Rogue character named Alignest. He elaborated on the reason for sharing this account with viewers, having kept it private for almost eleven years.

He expressed great enthusiasm, saying, “I was truly looking forward to sharing this with all of you,” as the individual held significant importance in his life. He was overjoyed because he had the chance to meet him personally, something he knew meant a lot to everyone. He felt incredibly grateful for the opportunity to befriend and spend time with him in reality. It’s a thought that fills him with joy.
