Reality TV’s Chrisley Family Lands New Lifetime Docuseries, Even With Parents Todd and Julie Still Behind Bars (TV News Roundup)

The Chrisley family will soon be back, even with its patriarch and matriarch still locked up.

Lifetime has approved a new documentary series about the Chrisley family from reality TV, which will be their initial collaboration following Todd and Julie Chrisley’s sentencing to federal prison for bank fraud and tax evasion in November 2022.

Slated for a 2025 debut, this new series will arrive two years following the conclusion of “Chrisley Knows Best,” which aired on the USA Network. The executive producers responsible for “The Life & Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson” and “Surviving R. Kelly” are helming its production under Bunim/Murray Productions.

The new series will come out in 2025, which is two years after “Chrisley Knows Best” ended on the USA Network. The same people who made shows like “The Life & Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson” and “Surviving R. Kelly” are making this one for Bunim/Murray Productions.

In my perspective, I’m part of a family that finds ourselves facing a tough situation as we strive to keep our Chrisley name and heritage alive with limited contact through calls and short visits due to our parents being behind bars. My sister Savannah has taken on the responsibility of caring for our younger siblings Chloe and Grayson, and she’s been working hard to secure a Presidential pardon in hopes of freeing our parents.

On my end, I’m dealing with some personal challenges as I focus on developing my new business and managing my relationship with my girlfriend Jodi. It’s not easy, but we’re doing our best to stay strong and move forward together.

The production of this project is handled by Bunim/Murray Productions, which falls under Banijay Americas. The team of executive producers includes Julie Pizzi, Farnaz Farjam, Jesse Daniels, Rit Saraswat, Savannah Chrisley, and Chase Chrisley. Nicole Blais serves as co-executive producer. Additionally, Brie Miranda Bryant and Nicole Vogel executive produce for Lifetime.

The series “Platonic” is created by Sony Pictures Television, under an overall deal with Stoller’s Global Solutions. Byrne, Stoller, Delbanco, and Conor Welch serve as executive producers, alongside Rogen, Goldberg, and Weaver for Point Grey Pictures.

PROGRAMMING

The fourth season of ‘Family Law’ will be back on The CW this coming summer, airing every Wednesday from July 23rd at 8 PM Eastern and Pacific Time.

The story begins as the life of lawyer Abigail (Jewel Staite) spirals out of control following a series of unfortunate events: her boyfriend Ben (Benjamin Ayres) leaves her, Sofia (Eden Summer Gilmore) pens an essay about her mother’s struggle with addiction, and Harry (Victor Garber) makes a significant decision that affects Abigail. The official summary hints at various legal cases involving rental families, malfunctioning surrogacy, parental responsibility, and AI companion dolls.

The television network CW took up the series “Family Law” following its initial season. This series is produced by Seven24 Films and Lark Productions for Corus Entertainment’s Global channel. Susin Nielsen, who created the series, also serves as the showrunner and executive producer. Additionally, Jordy Randall, Tom Cox, Erin Haskett, and Andy Mikita are among the executive producers.

Titled “Washington Black,” the eight-episode adventure series, spearheaded by Sterling K. Brown both as star and executive producer, is set to debut on Hulu on July 23rd. Director Nathaniel Lezra, who is known for his work on “Roads of Fire,” has secured a deal with RSA Entertainment to represent him in both writing and directing capacities. This agreement precedes the upcoming New York premiere of “Roads of Fire” at the 2025 Brooklyn Film Festival.

The movie, victorious in the Best Documentary category during its debut at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, chronicles the journey of Darién Gap, a refugee, as he adapts to life in New York, amidst a worldwide migratory predicament.

According to Lezra, this movie isn’t just about immigration policy costs, but also the strength of those affected. It’s particularly significant that the film premieres in New York, at a festival renowned for promoting daring, socially aware narratives, as this resonates deeply with the story’s themes.
