Actor Alan Ritchson was recently involved in a disagreement with his neighbor, Ronnie Taylor, in Brentwood, Tennessee, which was caught on video. Police investigated the situation, but have closed the case without filing any charges against either man.
According to a statement from Brentwood Police Captain Steven Pepin, authorities have decided not to file criminal charges against Mr. Ritchson after examining evidence like videos and witness accounts. They determined his actions were self-defense. While they initially considered a charge of reckless endangerment, Mr. Ritchson chose not to press charges, and with the District Attorney’s approval, the case is now closed.
The Incident Was Captured on Video
The incident gained attention on Sunday when TMZ released a video appearing to show Taylor on the ground while Ritchson hit him several times. The next day, additional video surfaced, reportedly from a body camera Ritchson was wearing, which seemed to show Taylor initially confronting and pushing the actor. This likely led investigators to conclude that Ritchson acted in self-defense.
The conflict with Alan Ritchson reportedly began on Saturday when he was seen speeding on a motorcycle through the neighborhood, according to Taylor. The next day, Ritchson was allegedly speeding again, this time with his sons riding their own motorcycles. Taylor stated that he initiated the physical altercation by pushing Ritchson off his motorcycle, and also reportedly challenged him to a fight, according to TMZ.
Taylor explained that on Sunday, while cleaning his bike, a man rode by twice. On the second pass, Taylor stepped in front of him and asked him to stop, warning that someone could get hurt. He said things quickly got worse, and he admitted to pushing the man because he was riding toward him.
Ritchson’s New Movie Was a Major Hit for Netflix
I’ve been following Alan Ritchson’s career closely, and he’s really hit his stride with his latest role. It’s amazing how quickly he’s become a star! I know he just finished filming two movies in Australia and New Zealand, even working with the director of War Machine again for a film about a Navy SEAL. And as a huge Reacher fan, I’m counting down the days until season four drops on Prime Video later this year – it’s going to be fantastic!
I’m really excited about what Alan Ritchson has coming up! Besides Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant, he’s going to be in this fun-sounding holiday action comedy called The Man with the Bag. And get this – he’s also leading an action thriller called Runner directed by Scott Waugh, and Owen Wilson and Rodrigo Santoro are in it too! It sounds like a packed schedule, and I can’t wait to see both of these movies.
