Alan Ritchson, known for his role in ‘Reacher’, openly identifies as Christian. However, it seems that some fellow believers find it challenging to distinguish him from the characters he portrays on-screen, leading to disagreement.
People seem to confuse fictional characters with real people, but I can easily tell them apart,” Ritchson stated. “Frequently, I receive criticism from Christians who are upset that I engage in unmarried intimate scenes on TV and then mention Jesus. I’m sorry, but I don’t think discussing such matters will be relevant when I stand before the pearly gates!”

Ritchson explained that people tend to mix up fictional characters with actual individuals, but he has no trouble telling them apart. He often receives criticism from Christians who disapprove of his unmarried on-screen intimacy and then referencing Jesus. He apologizes, but he doesn’t believe those topics will be relevant when he’s judged at the pearly gates!
Last year, in an article for The Hollywood Reporter, Ritchson articulated his religious beliefs by stating that he identifies as a Christian primarily because of the actions Jesus encourages. However, he also pointed out that at that time, religion had unfortunately evolved into a divisive and hostile group, which stands in stark contrast to the teachings and actions advocated by Jesus.
The actor expressed bewilderment, stating that despite Trump being accused of sexual assault and fraud, he is treated as a model by the entire Christian church, which seems hard to believe. I can’t fathom why this is happening.
Ritchson also highlighted the “horrific acts taking place within the church, which have been concealed and continue to be hidden, with no one being brought to justice.” He strongly condemned these actions as “disgusting.
I can’t back the Catholic Church for a moment when there are still high-ranking clergy, such as cardinals, bishops, and priests, who have been moved around despite having proven tendencies towards pedophilia,” he stated.
Actor Carl Ritchson, returning as Reacher in the third season of Amazon Prime Video’s popular action series, is renowned for expressing his opinions frankly. In an interview with GQ magazine, he openly criticized his former classmate Matt Gaetz. After moving from Illinois to Niceville, Fla., Ritchson and the politician both attended school together.
That individual. We clearly have opposing views,” Ritchson stated. “It’s astounding to me that the Florida panhandle persists in voting for someone who, given all we know about him and his private commitments to pardon certain criminals, is not a good person! There’s a part of me that aspires to enter politics with the intention of outdoing someone like him for the greater good. Yet another part of me questions if I possess the cunning required to thrive in politics. Some people manage to remain true to themselves, but they often lack effectiveness. I believe Bernie Sanders is a hero. But it’s as though, what has he truly achieved?
Starting February 20, you can watch the premiere of ‘Reacher’ Season 3 on Amazon Prime Video. For a comprehensive look at Ritchson’s thoughts, visit GQ’s website for the complete interview.
