Reacher Season 3 Episode 6: Will ‘Smoke on the Water’ Ignite a Sea Showdown?

In simple terms, the third season of Reacher is leading towards two significant confrontations, and based on the title of episode 6, there seems to be an element involving a sea encounter.

In the third season of Reacher, things have been quite suspenseful. Jack took on an undercover role to locate a missing woman and pursue an age-old foe, only to narrowly avoid exposure several times while doing so.

In the initial three episodes, he secretly entered a questionable trading operation. The fourth episode revealed the cause of Jack’s struggle through a heart-wrenching flashback. The fifth episode was filled with an unexpected demise and a significant plot turn.

Additionally, we’ve learned the name of Episode 6, and this could potentially hint at the location for the upcoming major occurrence.

Reacher’s next major showdown will likely happen at sea

In the sixth episode of Reacher Season 3, titled “Smoke on the Water,” there’s a musical reference to a well-known Deep Purple rock tune from the ’70s, but it seems this particular song isn’t featured in the Reacher Season 3 soundtrack as of yet.

The title seems to imply that Reacher is destined to cause harm aboard a ship in the upcoming episode, and this prediction appears plausible for several reasons.

The large home where he’s residing is right along the coastline, and Reacher has both discarded corpses into that very sea and navigated its rough waves for a covert assignment. In other words, maritime activities are now just steps away from him.

Additionally, it transpired in Episode 5 that McCabe, Reacher’s longtime adversary who had previously trafficked military secrets to America’s adversaries, is now disguising his activities through a carpet business. This front enables him to buy and sell weapons. As we saw in Episode 2, these guns are transported by road, as the episode was titled ‘On the Move.’

It’s plausible they are transported by ship, and the “Smoke on the Water” title hints that Jack’s inquiry might uncover this detail, potentially culminating in a gunfight at sea, or possibly an explosion.

It’s yet undecided if McCabe or the thug who struck Reacher in the previous episode, known as massive Paulie, will feature prominently in the upcoming episodes, given that there are still two installments left for their confrontation. However, we anticipate that the title of this week’s episode will indeed be taken literally, implying that there will be real smoke over the water in Reacher Season 3 Episode 6.
