Ray Fisher, Mark Kassen and Christopher Woodley Join Ben Affleck’s ‘Animals’

As a passionate cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve just learned some exciting updates about Ben Affleck’s upcoming Netflix thriller, “Animals.” The stellar lineup is growing even more impressive as Ray Fisher, Mark Kassen, and Christopher Woodley are now set to join the production. Joining this talented crew will be none other than myself (Affleck), along with Gillian Anderson, Kerry Washington, Steven Yeun, Luis Gerardo Méndez, and Adriana Paz. The anticipation for this film is palpable!

Filmmaker, playwright, and actor Mark Kassen, who has been nominated for both Golden Globe and Emmy awards, is the head of Like Minded Entertainment and a co-founder of the civic engagement platform A Starting Point. Among his notable works as a film director and producer are “Puncture” featuring Chris Evans, “Bernard and Doris” starring Ralph Fiennes and Susan Sarandon for HBO, and the movie “Before We Go,” which stars Chris Evans.

Mark Kassen, a multiple award-nominated filmmaker, playwright, and actor, is the founder of Like Minded Entertainment and co-founder of civic engagement platform A Starting Point. His feature films as a director and producer include “Puncture” starring Chris Evans, “Bernard and Doris” for HBO with Ralph Fiennes and Susan Sarandon, and “Before We Go,” featuring Chris Evans again.

John Kassen has created and overseen numerous scripted, reality, and documentary series that have been broadcast on channels like Fox, MTV, IFC, AMC, and Sundance Channel. He was also part of the Tony Award-winning Broadway play “The Last Night of Ballyhoo,” and wrote and starred in the highly praised off-Broadway, multimedia production titled “Little Willy.” His latest project is directing and acting in “PH-1,” a political thriller featuring Abubakar Salim, Dina Shihabi, Vinessa Shaw, and Jesse L. Martin.

At present, the movie production penned by Connor McIntyre and Billy Ray is in progression here in Los Angeles. This cinematic piece significantly incorporates the city into its narrative. Since the destructive wildfires that swept through this region recently, the production team has pledged to aid the local film industry, preserve jobs within the community, and underscore Los Angeles as a significant center for movie-making.

The movie is set to be created by Matt Affleck, along with Matt Damon, Dani Bernfeld, and Lucy Damon from Artists Equity (a studio founded by Affleck, Damon, and Gerry Cardinale/RedBird Capital Partners). Additionally, Brad Weston and Collin Creighton of Makeready, who have collaborated with Fifth Season in developing the project, will also be involved.

Artists Equity’s Michael Joe and Kevin Halloran are set to take on the role of executive producers, joining forces with Fifth Season for this project.

Kassen is repped by CAA.
