Sony and Oh BiBi are bringing the popular Ratchet & Clank franchise to mobile devices with a new free-to-play multiplayer shooter called Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, available on iOS and Android. Players can sign up now on the official website to be notified when the game launches. This is the first Ratchet & Clank game designed for mobile in several years, offering a fresh way to enjoy the series’ signature action and humor. It’s been four years since the last main Ratchet & Clank title.
Ranger Rumble lets you battle as your favorite characters from the Ratchet & Clank games in quick, online multiplayer matches. You can play by yourself or team up with friends, and each character has special powers and a huge arsenal of crazy weapons. The game is built to bring the classic Ratchet & Clank fun to mobile devices with a brand new way to play.
This launch is part of PlayStation’s plan to grow its mobile gaming business. Back in 2021, then-PlayStation president Jim Ryan said mobile gaming was a major focus, and that the company intended to release popular PlayStation games on mobile devices.
It’s currently unknown whether Ranger Rumble will connect to the larger Ratchet & Clank story. While the previous game, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (released in 2021), was highly praised, it told its own separate story.
