Actor Ram Charan, famous for the Academy Award and Golden Globe-winning movie “RRR,” has revealed the initial glimpse of his 16th cinematic project, named “Peddi.
This pan-India production is a joint effort between Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings, and the banner of producer Venkata Satish Kilaru’s Vriddhi Cinemas. The movie promises to transport viewers on an engaging trip through rural landscapes, evoking emotions and offering a raw, authentic experience. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, who was recognized with the Best Telugu-language film award at India’s National Film Awards for his debut work “Uppena” (2021), this filmmaker previously served as a writer and assistant director to Sukumar on the successful film “Rangasthalam” (2018).
Before showing a brief sneak peek, the production team celebrated Ram Charan’s birthday by unveiling the movie’s official title. It is said that “Peddi” represents the main character’s personality within the film.
Initially, the poster presents an altered look for Ram Charan, deviating from his typical style. He’s depicted with long, unruly hair, a beard, a nose stud, and puffing on a cigar. In another snapshot, he’s shown gripping a cricket bat against a backdrop of a rustic stadium, hinting at a storyline revolving around the sport of cricket.
In ‘Peddi,’ we see an eclectic group of actors breaking down regional barriers. Notably, the Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor, who was a lead in NTR Jr.’s ‘Devara Part 1’ and starred alongside Ram Charan in ‘RRR,’ will be taking on the female lead opposite Ram Charan. Additionally, the Kannada cinema powerhouse Shiva Rajkumar, known for his role in ‘Bhairathi Ranagal,’ plays a key part. Furthermore, Jagapathi Babu, who was recently seen in ‘Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2,’ and Divyendu Sharma of ‘Mirzapur’ fame are also included in the cast.”
This version aims to provide a clearer understanding of the actors involved and their previous roles while maintaining a natural and easy-to-read style.
The technical crew features A.R. Rahman, the Oscar-winning composer from “Slumdog Millionaire”, responsible for the soundtrack; R. Rathnavelu, renowned cinematographer from “Devara Part 1”, managing the camera work; Navin Nooli, editor of “Thandel”, handling the editing process; and Avinash Kolla, production designer from “Dasara”, overseeing the set design.
