Rainbow Six Without Vice President and Executive Producer. Ubisoft Has No Plans for Replacement

As a long-time fan of the Rainbow Six series, I find myself quite taken aback by the sudden departure of Cameron Lee from Ubisoft. With over two decades of industry experience under his belt and a successful stint as the producer of Dragon Age: Inquisition, it’s hard not to be intrigued by what might have led to this unexpected move.

According to reports from Insider Gaming, the Vice President of Ubisoft Montreal who oversaw the Rainbow Six brand has recently parted ways with the company, having been in this role for approximately 2.5 years.

It was neither the American worker, known for his 20-year tenure in the industry and production of Dragon Age: Inquisition, nor Ubisoft that disclosed his departure via social media. Instead, it appears the employees will receive an email about Lee’s departure from the company. At this moment, there is no indication that Ubisoft is seeking a replacement for him.

In an interesting turn of events, a developer assumed the role of Vice President and Executive Producer at Ubisoft Montreal starting April 2022. Notably, this individual, Lee, has been tasked with shaping the future vision for the popular Rainbow Six series within the company, while also collaborating closely with internal partners.

There’s no clear explanation for why Lee left his position, and it’s unclear if he chose to go or if Ubisoft made the decision. While it’s possible to connect this with Ubisoft’s recent troubles or the ongoing investor investigation, without definite facts, such speculation is unwarranted. The company has not yet provided any statement about Lee’s departure.
