Rainbow Six Siege Y9S2 Twin Shells– Release Date, Striker, Sentry

As a veteran gamer who has seen countless operations come and go in Rainbow Six Siege, I can confidently say that Operation Twin Shells is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing yet. The introduction of Skopos, a wheelchair-bound Greek Defender who controls two robots, adds a new level of strategy to the game that I’m eager to explore.

Ubisoft has unveiled the specifics for the third season of Year 9 in Rainbow Six Siege, titled Operation Twin Shells. This update includes the launch date, a fresh Operator named Skopos, as well as other exciting details.

Operation Twin Shells Release Date: September 10, 2024

The upcoming operation, codenamed Twin Shells, is set to drop on September 10, 2024 – just two weeks away from now as we speak. This marks the third operation of the season, following Operation New Blood. In this operation, you’ll find a fresh Operator joining the ranks, the debut of the Siege Cup beta, some balance adjustments, and various other exciting features. Firstly, let’s delve into the new Operator: Skopos.

Operation Twin Shells: Skopos

Originating from Greece, Skopos has recently joined the ranks of Rainbow Six Siege as the latest Defender Operator. Despite her status as the newest addition, she doesn’t physically appear on the battlefield due to being wheelchair-bound. Instead, she operates two robots, or ‘Shells’, that engage in combat on her behalf.

As a gamer, when I’m controlling these Shells, I know they are versatile, boasting 2 Health and 2 Speed stats. This means they can function effectively as both anchors to hold down key positions and roamers to explore and scout the map. However, I can only control one Shell at a time, with the other acting as my Gadget. When it’s inactive, it hides behind a protective ballistic shield and doubles up as a camera for the entire team, providing valuable intel on enemy movements.

Skopos has the ability to transition smoothly between two Shells (following a brief animation), making it the most agile defensive unit in Defender Siege yet. Moreover, being non-human, these Shells are resistant to Smoke’s gas and Fenrir’s mines, opening up opportunities for strategic teamwork. However, this also means that they cannot be restored with healing or equipped with Doc’s armor plating.

shells possess additional vulnerabilities that attackers might exploit. When these shells are in an inactive state, they become susceptible to Electromagnetic Pulses (EMPs) or Dokkaebi’s hack, making it impossible for Skopos to switch over to them.

As a fan, I’ve learned that when Shells are inactive, they’re protected by a shield that can be broken with explosives, making them vulnerable to destruction. Interestingly, Brava’s Kludge drone can overheat the inactive Shell too, but clever Skopos players can swiftly switch Shells to dodge this damage and keep their Shell intact.

The Shells now carry the latest PCX-33 assault rifle, along with the P229 handgun as backup firepower. In terms of extra equipment, they can utilize impact grenades and proximity alerts.

At the onset of the season, those with the Operation Twin Shells Battle Pass can access Skopos. For players lacking the battle pass, they’ll need to hold out for a fortnight before Skopos can be acquired utilizing Renown or R6 Credits.

Solis, Dokkaebi, and Nokk Balancing updates

Changes have been made to enhance the balance for Solis, Dokkaebi, and Nokk. Specifically, modifications are being applied to Solis’ SPEC-IO Sensor following adjustments made during Operation New Blood. As a result of this update, Solis’ SPEC-IO Sensor will now only identify gadgets if they are directly centered within her gadget detection range, much like IQ’s Electronics Detector. Furthermore, the sensor no longer reveals the type of gadget it has detected.

After employing the Overclock feature, the SPEC-IO Sensor acquires a novel capability: It can now recognize various types of gadgets. Additionally, this action refills the sensor’s energy meter and reduces the energy consumption of her scanning ability. Activating Overclock will also signal potential adversaries of its utilization.

As a gamer, I’ve noticed an update on Dokkaebi’s hack ability. Previously, she had charges at the start of each match, but now, she earns one charge every 45 seconds, with a maximum of two charges. This change makes it tougher for Attackers to make a quick early rush, as they might reveal their position using her ability.

In a new update, Nokk’s stealth capacity has been significantly enhanced. Now, her gadget won’t drain energy when she remains stationary, essentially granting her unlimited invisibility to surveillance cameras in a fixed position. However, as soon as she begins moving, firing shots, or jumping, the energy will begin draining again.

Siege Cup Beta

Join reliable teammates and elevate your competitive spirit by participating in the latest Siege Cup! Team up with friends or any allies that share your gaming passion. Prepare for the upcoming Siege Cup season as Ubisoft finalizes the details; the official tournament will commence towards the end of this year.

As a gamer, I’m pumped about the upcoming beta for Operation Twin Shells’ Siege Cup! This bi-weekly in-game competition is another chance to showcase my skills on the battlefield. The Siege Cup will initially debut in beta mode on PC when Operation Twin Shells launches, and it’ll be fully operational by Season 4.

Drone Update

Drone movements are about to become more agile; they’ve recently acquired a ‘speed-up’ feature that temporarily enhances their velocity. This added agility allows drones to reach their destinations quicker or maneuver out of potential threats with greater ease.

This latest Drone upgrade seems to be all about finding an equilibrium in response to Skopos’ impressive data collection abilities. Nevertheless, it’s a positive development since Drones are frequently damaged when detected by Defenders.

Other Operation Deadly Omen Updates

During the time they’re queueing up for matches, players now have the opportunity to visit the practice shooting area, where they can improve their aim and shooting proficiency prior to starting a game.

As an enthusiast, I’m thrilled about the latest update in Versus AI 2.0! Now, I can step into the role of Defender, squaring off against a formidable team of AI Attackers. This feature offers me a fantastic opportunity to hone my skills, particularly in site setup and gadget countering. It’s an ideal platform for those, like myself, who want to test out the new operator without diving headfirst into competitive matches right away.

Additionally, improvements have been implemented to strengthen the game’s anti-cheat measures and security, ensuring a safer environment for players, despite potentially encountering cheaters on their team.

Here’s all the data available regarding the forthcoming Rainbow Six Siege Operation Twin Shells, the novel operator named Skopos, and further details. For insights on what Year 9 has in store, check out the Rainbow Six Siege Roadmap.
