Rainbow Six Siege Gets Huge Bump In Players After Siege X Launch

The highly transformative update for Rainbow Six Siege, known as Siege X, became active this week and has been warmly received by gamers. As a result, the player count on Steam noticeably increased after the introduction of Siege X.

As a diehard fan, I can’t help but notice the surge in player count on June 10th, thanks to the release of Siege X! The data from SteamDB reveals that we peaked at a staggering 142,000 concurrent players on Steam – quite an impressive figure! Although it hasn’t yet surpassed Siege’s all-time peak of 201,933 set back on May 17th, 2024, it’s undeniably a significant increase. It seems that many players either rejoined the game or gave Siege a try for the first time to explore the exciting updates and new features that come with Siege X!

At the moment, “Siege” ranks among the top five best-sellers on Steam and is also listed in the top ten most popular games. Interestingly, Steam makes this kind of information public, but Microsoft and Sony do not provide comparable sales or usage data for their platforms like the Xbox and PlayStation stores.

In essence, the recent Siege X update has refurbished the game, offering enhanced visuals and audio quality. Additionally, it introduces a fresh 6v6 mode called Dual Front, alongside numerous other updates and enhancements.

Initially released back in 2015, Rainbow Six Siege has been continuously developed and refined since then, receiving regular updates along the way. The game had amassed a player base of 85 million before the introduction of the Siege X update.
