Rachel Sennott Comedy Series Gets HBO Greenlight

As a movie enthusiast with a penchant for discovering fresh talents, I must say that the news of Rachel Sennott‘s untitled comedy series being picked up by HBO has me absolutely thrilled! Having seen her performances in shows like “The Idol,” “High Maintenance,” and “Bottoms,” I can confidently predict that she is going to light up our screens with her charm and humor.

Rachel Sennott‘s untitled comedy has been picked up to series at HBO, EbMaster has learned.

The series was commissioned for a test run at a high-end cable network back in March. Sennott is responsible for its creation, stars in it, and holds an executive producer role. Additionally, Emma Barrie, Aida Rodgers, and Lorene Scafaria serve as executive producers. Notably, Scafaria was the one who directed the pilot episode.

Amy Gravitt, HBO and Max’s executive vice president of comedy programming, said Rachel is equally funny and endearing. ‘In partnership with Lorene and Emma,’ she added, ‘Rachel skillfully portrays the humor and the aesthetics that arise when friendships intersect unexpectedly with our preconceived plans. We’re delighted to keep working with this gifted crew and this exceptional cast.’

The series is summarized as such: “A group of close friends, who were once intertwined, reunite to deal with how their individual journeys, professional aspirations, and fresh relationships have transformed them.” In addition to Sennott, the ensemble comprises Odessa A’zion, Jordan Firstman, Miles Robbins, and True Whitaker.

Sennott expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards Amy, HBO, and the exceptional crew who helped bring this show to life,” he stated. “I’ll reveal the title in no time, I assure you!

Previously, Sennott has made appearances in HBO shows such as “The Idol” and “High Maintenance”. More recently, she collaborated as both an actress and a writer in the 2023 comedy film “Bottoms”, which also stars Ayo Edebri, who gained recognition from “The Bear”. Sennott and Edebri had previously worked together on the Comedy Central series “Ayo and Rachel are Single.” Besides these roles, Sennott has also been seen in “Bodies, Bodies, Bodies” and “Shiva Baby”.
