QVC+ Renews Busy Philipps’ Late-Night Series ‘Busy This Week’ for Season 2

As a seasoned movie lover with a knack for discerning quality entertainment, I must say that the news of QVC giving a second season to “Busy This Week” has me genuinely excited! Having grown up watching late-night talk shows and variety programs, this new twist on the formula – combining entertainment with shopping in a seamless manner – is refreshingly innovative.

QVC has approved a second season for its late-night talk show “Busy This Week”, as the retail titan broadens its content offerings to engage new audiences through its QVC Plus and HSN Plus streaming services.

Hosted by actress Busy Philipps, “Busy This Week” is a notable initiative within Qurate Retail Group (the parent company of QVC and HSN) that aims to attract a new generation of celebrities and expand their programming genres, particularly for their shopping-focused content. In the past few months, they have partnered with personalities such as Jennie Garth and Ana Gasteyer, who will make regular appearances on their services. Starting November 2nd, Garth and Gasteyer will be judges in the second season of the QVC+/HSN+ series “The Ultimate Gift Wrapping Challenge.

Qurate Retail Group has entered into an agreement with USA Pickleball for managing the broadcast of their pickleball games and tournaments, which are rapidly gaining popularity. This includes a live streaming of the USA Pickleball National Championships scheduled from November 9th to 17th.

Titled “This Week’s Agenda,” this program adopts a conversational talk-variety style, featuring Philipps engaging in lively discussions with Tina Fey, Bette Midler, and other distinguished personalities. The series is orchestrated by Caissie St. Onge and Michael Gleason in executive production roles. St. Onge, who collaborated with Philipps on her E! late-night program, frequently appears on-camera alongside Philipps and the guests. Instead of the conventional sales pitch approach seen in traditional home shopping TV, this series seamlessly integrates shopping elements within the conversation.

At QVC+ and HSN+, we’ve found a unique method to blend the fun of shopping for yourself and others into an entertaining program. People often think that selling means less entertainment, but ‘Busy This Week’ has shown this isn’t true. Stacie Tedesco, Vice President of Streaming for Qurate Retail Group, expressed this. The renewal of ‘Busy This Week’ for a second season serves as a solid endorsement of our innovative and engaging approach to shoppable entertainment, resonating with our customers. We’re excited to keep exploring the streaming world alongside our creative partner, Busy Philipps, who is always open to new ideas while staying true to her authentic self.

This Week’s Agenda” showcases a traditional talk-variety format hosted by Philipps, featuring conversations with stars like Tina Fey, Bette Midler, and others. The dialogue incorporates shopping topics seamlessly, yet subtly. The series is overseen by executive producers Caissie St. Onge and Michael Gleason. Notably, St. Onge, who collaborated with Philipps on her E! late-night program, frequently appears on-screen alongside Philipps and guests.

The series titled ‘Busy This Week’ started on May 8 and ended on July 10. However, it will be back with its final four holiday-themed episodes starting November 6, marking the continuation of Season 1. QVC+ is maximizing their investment in ‘Busy This Week’, offering additional content such as ‘Busy This Week: The Aftershow’ featuring St. Onge and QVC personality Amy Stran, and a ‘Best of Busy This Week’ recap for each episode that focuses on the items available for purchase.
