Quinta Brunson to Host ‘SNL’ With Benson Boone as Musical Guest

Brunson and Benson are teaming up on “Saturday Night Live.”

On May 3rd, Quinta Brunson is set to host “SNL”, with Benson Boone providing the music. This was revealed in the latest episode. It marks Brunson’s second time hosting, having previously done so for “Abbott Elementary”. Meanwhile, Boone, a rising Grammy-nominated artist, will make his debut performance on this occasion. He’s currently gaining popularity at Coachella over the weekend.

This current season of “Saturday Night Live” has seen a diverse array of hosts such as Jean Smart, Nate Bargatze, Ariana Grande, Michael Keaton, John Mulaney, Bill Burr, Charli XCX, Paul Mescal, Chris Rock, Martin Short, Dave Chappelle, Timothee Chalamet, Shane Gillis, Lady Gaga, Mikey Madison and Jack Black. The musical guests have ranged from Jelly Roll to Coldplay, Stevie Nicks, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Mk.gee, Charli XCX, Shaboozey, Gracie Abrams, Hozier, GloRilla, Timothee Chalamet, Tate McRae, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen and Elton John with Brandi Carlile.

In the most recent episode, Jon Hamm is the host, accompanied by Lizzo as the musical guest. Currently, Hamm appears in the newly released Apple TV+ series “Your Friends & Neighbors,” which debuted on Friday. His character is a former hedge fund manager who’s recently divorced, jobless, and struggling financially. To maintain his luxurious lifestyle for himself and his family, he resorts to criminal activities like stealing from his neighbors. This is Hamm’s fourth time hosting “Saturday Night Live,” with the last time being almost 15 years ago. He previously hosted in 2008 during the “Mad Men” era and twice in 2010.

Lizzo is gearing up to debut her fifth album, titled “Love in Real Life.” She’s previously released albums such as “Special” (2022), “Cuz I Love You” (2019), “Big Grrrl Small World” (2015) and “Lizzobangers” (2013). This will be her fourth appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” having first taken the stage in 2019, then serving as both host and musical guest in 2022, followed by another performance later that year. In 2023, she was awarded a Grammy for her song “About Damn Time,” and before that, she received three accolades for the deluxe edition of “Cuz I Love You” as well as her performances of “Truth Hurts” and “Jerome.
