Quicksilver Storm Roars Back to Life

Originally overpowering in PvE gameplay within Destiny 2 before being toned down through a balance adjustment, an Exotic weapon has been given a boost in Episode Heresy. As a result, its popularity is growing rapidly yet again.

In the game “Into The Light,” the weapon Quicksilver Storm experienced two adjustments, or nerfs. One alteration increased the number of shots required for Rocket Tracers by 50%, while another decreased the area-of-effect (AOE) damage by 37.5%. While both changes were less than desirable, it was the first one that significantly impacted the gun’s performance. As a result, it swiftly dropped from being a highly favored Exotic weapon to one that barely saw any use at all.

After a while, Bungie has now examined the adjustments (nerfs) made in Act 1 of Heresy. On February 4, they implemented a new set of changes which included reducing the number of shots needed to activate Rocket Tracers by 17%, thus lessening the original nerf to 33%.

With this modification, you’ll find that Quicksilver Storm can discharge all three of its rockets from a single round once more. This small upgrade allows Grenade Chaser to be fully charged without needing a reload, restoring much of the power it initially lost due to the nerfs.

Quicksilver Storm is meta again

The surge in popularity of the Exotic Auto Rifle hasn’t gone unnoticed within the community, with the Quicksilver Storm now being the tenth most commonly utilized Exotic weapon for Player vs Environment (PvE) activities, as monitored by DestinyTracker through Bungie’s API.

Compared to alternatives such as Khvostov 7G-0X, Outbreak Perfected, and Trinity Ghoul, it now takes the lead. Before Episode Heresy, it hadn’t even made the top 20 list, but since then, it’s seen a significant improvement in performance.

Remarkably, this season’s collection lacks harmony with Quicksilver Storm. However, despite the seasonal artifact providing minimal benefits for Strand and absent Auto Rifles, the enhancements alone have successfully lured Guardians back into the fray.

In addition to the one you’ve mentioned, another once overlooked exotic has been shining brightly this season. The Lord of Wolves is causing a stir among boss battles, while The Queenbreaker now reigns supreme in the damage-per-second (DPS) category after being sidelined for such a long time.
