As a seasoned movie enthusiast who’s spent countless hours immersed in the captivating world of Saturday Night Live (SNL), I can hardly contain my excitement for this upcoming documentary, “Ladies & Gentlemen … 50 Years of SNL Music.” With an impressive lineup of interviews featuring musical legends and SNL stalwarts alike, it’s a dream come true for any fan like myself.

A documentary titled “Saturday Night Live’s Music Performances” is set to air on NBC, with Academy Award-winning director Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson and Emmy Award-winning director Oz Rodriguez at the helm.

Titled “50 Years of SNL Music: A Special Presentation for Ladies and Gentlemen,” this three-hour event is set to air on the network on January 27, starting at 8 p.m., with a repeat available the next day on Peacock.

The upcoming movie, commemorating half a century of “SNL,” promises to reveal previously untold tales about the iconic, revolutionary, and headline-making musical acts, skits, and guest appearances from the last five decades, according to its synopsis.

The doc will also feature more than 50 interviews, including Bad Bunny, DJ Breakout, Elvis Costello, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish and Finneas, Dave Grohl, Debbie Harry & Chris Stein, Mick Jagger, Dua Lipa, Darryl DMC McDaniels, Tom Morello, Kacey Musgraves, Olivia Rodrigo, MC Sha-Rack, Paul Simon, Chris Stapleton, Justin Timberlake, Lee Ving and Jack White.

He explained that delving into the extensive archival footage felt like traveling through time in a time machine, whether it was a DeLorean or another type. He expressed his joy about embarking on this journey and now being able to share his findings with everyone.
