Queen Latifah Says ‘The Equalizer’ Was ‘Everything I Hoped it Would Be’ After Show’s Cancelation: ‘Don’t Worry, I’ll Be Back’

Queen Latifah expressed her reflections on “The Equalizer” following the news, released on Friday, that the CBS action series will conclude after completing its fifth season.

Last Friday, Latifah expressed some heartfelt farewell messages before the final episode of “The Equalizer” on May 4th. In her Instagram post, she stated that playing the action-packed character of Robyn McCall, a former CIA agent turned vigilante guardian angel, exceeded all her expectations. She described it as everything she had hoped it would be.

Shakim [Compere] and I at Flavor Unit are always thrilled to bring roles and projects like these to reality, and all we can do is hope you enjoy them as much as we do. ‘The Equalizer’ surpassed every expectation we had for it, and the chance to continue this for five seasons feels almost unreal.” (Latifah wrote)

She went on to express, “A big thanks to our fantastic actors, team behind the scenes, creators, and scriptwriters! What I can’t emphasize enough is our appreciation for the FANS! You’ve been steadfast, vocal, and unwavering in your support—and that’s why we carry on. We can’t thank you enough; it truly means the world to us.

Latifah hinted at a project she’s eager to reveal and closed with, “Fear not, I’ll return with a brand-new venture shortly.” This implies that another action-oriented project is coming up for her.

Among a few recent cancellations, “The Equalizer” is just one of them. Additionally, CBS has also terminated “Poppa’s House,” “FBI: International,” and “FBI: Most Wanted.
