Okay, so this is wild. I just read that a pro cornhole player – and this is crazy, he has no arms or legs – was arrested for murder in Maryland. Apparently, things got super heated during an argument, and it ended tragically. It’s just… a really shocking story, especially knowing he’s a competitive player.
Dayton Webber is a 27-year-old who competes professionally in cornhole. He lost all four of his limbs as an infant – at just 10 months old – after a serious blood infection called streptococcus pneumonia.
Doctors decided to stop the infection from reaching his organs, but they cautioned Webber’s parents that his chances of survival after the procedure were less than 3%.
After 27 years, he’s now a professional cornhole player, quickly becoming a star in the American Cornhole League. He’s been competing on ESPN since he was just 16.
His accomplishments are now being overshadowed following his arrest on March 23.
Cornhole pro Dayton Webber to be charged with first-degree murder
According to local reports, Webber has been arrested in connection with the death of 27-year-old Bradrick Michael Wells in La Plata, Maryland.
Police say Webber is accused of shooting Wells inside a car, then driving off with Wells’ body. The body was later found in a yard on Newport Church Road in Charlotte Hall.
According to two passengers in Webber’s Tesla, they witnessed the shooting and declined his pleas to help him get rid of Wells’ body.
Webber ran away, and the two people who saw what happened called the police. He was arrested at a hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia, as he was wanted by the authorities.
When news of Webber’s arrest became public, the American Cornhole League responded with a statement on social media.

Investigators are still trying to figure out how Webber, who has lost all four limbs, was able to both drive and shoot Wells. However, videos online show Webber proficiently firing 9MM handguns, suggesting he has experience with firearms.
According to Diane Richardson with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation is still in its early stages, but currently, there’s nothing to indicate anyone assisted the shooter; he appears to have acted by himself, she told FOX 5.
Webber is being transferred from Virginia to Charles County, Maryland, to face charges including first- and second-degree murder.
