It appears that MindsEye has had a bumpy beginning, and it’s not just referring to the game’s crimson backdrop. Some players, even those on PS5, have expressed dissatisfaction with the action-adventure game’s performance, to the point where they’ve requested refunds. So far, Sony has been accommodating these requests.
According to a Reddit post by a PS5 user named TheGamer, and another source identified as Wolfgang on X, players of the game MindsEye on the PS5 platform are eligible for refunds if they encounter optimization problems. This is due to PlayStation Support acknowledging the issues and investigating the situation. Furthermore, it seems that Sony has granted a refund to a player facing troubles with MindsEye, despite their usual policy of not processing refunds for downloaded games from the PlayStation Store under normal circumstances.
Playstation support have refunded the game with zero issues and said they’re “aware of this games optimisation and are investigating the situation”, the only other game they’ve EVER said this for was cyberpunk 2077,which was delisted for 6 months…

In essence, the predicament with MindsEye reminds us of when Cyberpunk 2077 was taken off the PlayStation Store towards the end of 2020 due to technical glitches within the game. However, the developer of MindsEye, Build a Rocket Boy, is currently putting in long hours to rectify performance issues and make necessary updates to the game.
During MindsEye’s debut, an unusual incident took place: a sponsored stream featuring Twitch streamer CohhCarnage was abruptly cancelled just before it was set to go live. Later, Kotaku senior reporter Ethan Gach posted a clip on his platform showcasing the popular streamer discussing the chaotic predicament.
Approximately two days ago, on June 10th, MindsEye was officially released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Interestingly, just prior to this launch, two high-ranking officials from Build a Rocket decided to leave the organization.
