Sony is announcing that they will re-stock their extremely limited 30th Anniversary PS5 package on September 29, 2025, after it sold out incredibly quickly in the year 2024.
The special edition PS5 bundles marking the 30th anniversary were introduced in 2024 and were quickly snapped up. Given their popularity as highly desirable collectibles, advertisements for them on resale platforms skyrocketed, with prices for the PS5 Pro version reaching as high as $10,000 within just hours of release.
Sony enforcing pre-order rules
To prevent bots and scalpers from overwhelming the system, Sony has decided to restrict pre-orders to a single unit per PSN account. Starting from July 21, PlayStation Plus members will have early access for pre-ordering. The general public can start their pre-orders on July 23. Due to limited quantities, competition for these products is expected to be fierce.
At this moment, we know that six nations – Canada, France, Italy, Ireland, Japan, and the United Kingdom – are set to receive a limited supply. It’s uncertain whether or not there will be restock in the U.S., as no information about it has been disclosed yet.
On September 29, there will be a special, limited restock of the PS5 Digital Edition Console Bundle, the 30th Anniversary DualSense Wireless Controller, and the PlayStation Portal for its 30th Anniversary. Pre-orders for this exclusive UK release can be made only on their official website starting from that date.

This package comes with a PS5 console resembling the ’94 original, sporting a gray and black color scheme, an accompanying DualSense controller of the same tone, plus packaging that harks back to the retro era. Additionally, a PlayStation Portal emblazoned with classic colors will also be up for grabs.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve got some important info to share. It turns out that the recent restock is just for the digital version of the PS5 base model. The fancier PS5 Pro with the anniversary decal, which seems to be quite popular on eBay, hasn’t been included in this restock yet. Hopefully, Sony will update us soon about when we might see a restock of that version.
