In a dimly lit conference room situated in Lille, France, the upcoming Italian action drama series “Costiera,” featuring Jesse Williams, received significant attention as Amazon’s Prime Video showcased it during Series Mania.
At a recent sneak peek event, I got to catch a tantalizing glimpse of an upcoming series under the warm sun. In this production, I’ll be portraying a hotel fixer on a mission to locate the owner’s missing daughter. This captivating show is set to premiere on a streaming platform towards the end of this year.
On stage, Nicole Morganti, Prime Video’s head of originals for Southern Europe, noted that while “Costiera” had an American director (Adam Bernstein) and an American lead, it was a genuinely Italian tale penned by Italian writers. The production boasted an international cast hailing from France, Spain, and the U.K., with an Italian co-producer in Lux Vide, and the Amalfi Coast playing a significant role.
Or simply:
At a public event, Nicole Morganti, Prime Video’s Southern Europe head of originals, stated that “Costiera,” despite having an American director and lead, was a truly Italian story written by Italian authors. It starred actors from France, Spain, and the U.K., had an Italian co-producer in Lux Vide, and showcased the Amalfi Coast as a main character.
She mentioned, “What truly matters is demonstrating that Southern Europe serves as a nurturing ground and a platform for a global narrative with universal appeal.
Additionally, Morganti talked about another Italian project, which was a movie adaption of “Love Me, Love Me,” the initial volume in Stefania S.’s highly successful YA romance trilogy on Wattpad.
The movie is currently being filmed, she stated, and it’s “a production that carries the potential to strike a chord worldwide.” She further commented that “for young adults, the origin doesn’t matter much.
Morganti pointed out that Prime Video closely monitored fan reactions to the book adaptations on social media platforms, taking their feedback into account. In fact, they unveiled their “Love Me Love Me” cast ahead of schedule to gauge public opinion.
‘Who is this person?’ or ‘Who’s the brunette?’. She noted that interacting with the fans in this manner fostered a strong affection for the fact that we were producing the movie.
