‘Presumed Innocent’ Season 2 Casts Rachel Brosnahan in Lead Role

According to our sources, Rachel Brosnahan will appear as the lead actress and also serve as an executive producer for “Presumed Innocent” Season 2 on Apple TV+.

The first season of the show, premiered in 2024, was adapted from Scott Turow’s book with the same title. For the second season, set to air in 2026, we’ll be drawing inspiration from Jo Murray’s upcoming novel, “Dissection of a Murder”.

Leila Reynolds has been unexpectedly assigned a high-profile murder case, the killing of a well-regarded judge. Given her experience, this seems far above her capabilities. However, the accused, Jack Millman, insists on having Leila specifically for his defense.

Leila was given a tough murder case she’s not used to. The suspect, Jack, wants only her to defend him.

For a more literary style:
Upon receiving her first homicide assignment, Leila Reynolds finds herself grappling with a high-stakes case: the slaying of a revered judge. This isn’t the type of situation she’s accustomed to managing; it’s well beyond her realm of expertise. Yet, Jack Millman, the accused, expresses his firm preference for Leila to handle his defense exclusively.

Brosnahan will star as Leila Reynolds.

David E. Kelley is behind the television series and holds the roles of executive producer and joint showrunner under his production company, David E. Kelley Productions (DEKP). Erica Lipez, known for “We Were the Lucky Ones” and “The Morning Show”, will also serve as co-showrunner and executive producer during Season 2. J.J. Abrams and Rachel Rusch Rich are executive producers through Bad Robot Productions. Matthew Tinker from DEKP is another executive producer. Jake Gyllenhaal, who featured in the first season, will take on an executive producer role via Nine Stories. Turow plays a part as co-executive producer. Warner Bros. Television serves as the production company.

After wrapping up my successful run as Miriam “Midge” Maisel on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel for five seasons on Amazon Prime, I’m excited to take on a new TV starring role. Throughout the show, I was honored with an Emmy nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for every season and was thrilled to win in 2018. Additionally, I was fortunate enough to receive two Golden Globe awards out of four nominations for my work on the series. Interestingly, I also earned an Emmy nomination in 2015 for my role in House of Cards on Netflix. Now, I’m looking forward to stepping into the iconic role of Lois Lane in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman film.

Brosnahan is represented by four talent agencies: Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Brillstein Entertainment Partners, Schreck Rose, and The Lede Company.
