Pranav Mohanlal Indian Horror Film Title Revealed as ‘Dies Irae’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Rising Indian cinema star Pranav Mohanlal‘s upcoming horror-thriller film has unveiled a title.

India’s Night Shift Studios has unveiled “The Day of Wrath” as the title for their upcoming second feature film. This Malayalam-language horror-thriller features Pranav Mohanlal in the main role, and is scripted and directed by Rahul Sadasivan, who previously led the team behind the critically praised debut “Bramayugam.

Principal photography has wrapped, with the project currently in post-production.

Previously released at the studio was the monochrome period horror film “Bramayugam,” set in 2024. This movie featured Malayalam cinema’s leading star Mammootty, alongside Arjun Ashokan and Sidharth Bharathan. Under the direction of Sadasivan, it proved to be a hit at the box office.

Chakravarthy Ramachandra, founder and producer of Night Shift Studios, states that ‘Bramayugam’ helped put Indian-horror thrillers on the global map. He adds that ‘Dies Irae’ is the next phase in this journey, with Pranav Mohanlal poised to make a lasting impact on this genre.

Director Sadasivan suggests that his upcoming movie, ‘Dies Irae’, will offer a fresh, contrasting take compared to his past projects. He explains, “Unlike my previous films, ‘Dies Irae’ delves into an emotional spectrum that resonates with the current generation. Although it falls under the horror-thriller genre, it presents a unique spin on its narrative style and atmosphere.

The show continues to keep its principal creative group from “Bramayugam,” indicating that Night Shift Studios might be adopting a consistent method for their genre-related content, yet still venturing into unexplored realms.

S. Sashikanth, a partner and producer at Night Shift Studios, shares that ideas like ‘Dies Irae’ need more than just an innovative thought; they require the perfect blend of skill and unyielding excellence. This aspect is what truly energizes us about this project,” says S. Sashikanth.

A worldwide theatrical release is slated for later this year.
