The selected ingredients for this successful animated series were sweetness, zest, and all things lovely. Now, the Powerpuff Girls are set to reappear regularly on Cartoon Network.
Over the last few weeks, there’s been plenty for enthusiasts of the Powerpuff Girls to ponder upon. At long last, a sneak peek at the abandoned live-action version airing on The CW was unveiled, offering a tantalizing glimpse into what might have transpired.
Instead of saying “The new TV show would have focused on the girl’s – Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup’s – lives as they grew up under the pressure of being superheroes in Townsville,” you could say: “The proposed TV series aimed to depict the lives of Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup as they navigated their superhero roles while growing up in Townsville. Unfortunately, it didn’t go beyond the initial episode.
Nevertheless, the series is set for a revival, and it will be back on its original platform shortly.
Powerpuff Girls is coming back to Cartoon Network on April 12
Starting from April 12th, I’m thrilled to share that my beloved Powerpuff Girls are making a comeback to their regular spot on Cartoon Network! They’ll be gracing our screens every Saturday alongside some other amazing shows like Teen Titans Go!, Iyanu, and Steven Universe. Can’t wait for the weekend now!
- 9am – Teen Titans Go!
- 9.30am – Iyanu
- 10am – Steven Universe
- 10.30am – The Powerpuff Girls
Currently, you can stream the original series on Max, but it will be removed from the streaming platform on April 2nd. Hence, this seems like the perfect moment for its comeback on its original broadcast network.
In 2023, Cartoon Network briefly brought back The Powerpuff Girls as a special tribute for their 25th anniversary.
The current suspension seems to be long-term, as the show hasn’t been consistently broadcast since 2014, with its last regular airing being that of its final episode back then.
What’s more, it’ll be the original series, rather than the critically-panned 2016 reboot.
