Porsche responds after Resident Evil fans claim Leon will definitely destroy his Porsche in Resident Evil Requiem

Porsche’s partnership with Resident Evil Requiem hit a funny snag when fans saw the reveal trailer and joked that Leon S. Kennedy would wreck the Cayenne Turbo GT before the game was over. Porsche has now responded with a clever and lighthearted reaction.

Leon Kennedy is back in Resident Evil Requiem, and this time he’s driving a specially made Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, once again voiced by Nick Apostolides. The game’s trailer features Leon behind the wheel, linking Porsche’s reputation for high performance with the iconic character from the Resident Evil survival horror series.

Following the Game Awards announcement, online conversations quickly turned to Leon’s past struggles with driving and other vehicles.

Fans question Leon’s driving record

After the official trailer was released, many players expressed concerns online about whether the character Cayenne would even make it to the end of the game.

One fan predicted the Porsche wouldn’t last long, writing, “That Porsche ain’t surviving the entire game.” Another jokingly imagined Leon crashing it right through the police station.

Given Leon’s history with cars, it’s almost certain Porsche won’t survive this game without being totaled – likely in a spectacular, high-speed crash, maybe even driven off a cliff.

Porsche says “We trust Leon”

I was so relieved Porsche didn’t just dismiss what happened! Instead, they got “Leon” some really important high-performance driving lessons. It was great to see them taking it seriously and helping him improve.

Lacy James, dressed as Leon from the Resident Evil series, drove the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT on a racetrack. Porsche racing pro Patrick Long gave him tips on drifting and high-performance driving during the session.

After directly addressing the feedback and recognizing Leon’s history of playful antics, the video shows him expertly drifting the Cayenne. It ends with the message: “We trust Leon.”

It’s still uncertain if Leon’s driving lessons will prevent disaster when Resident Evil Requiem comes out on February 27th. You can find our complete review here.
