A unicyclist who juggles fire became an online sensation when police released drone video of his daring act. While impressed by his skill, the police also pointed out that performing on the roadside like that is against the law.
Okay, so I saw this crazy video online the other day. Apparently, on February 5th, some guy in Commerce City, Colorado, just rolled right into a busy intersection… on a unicycle! And it wasn’t just a casual ride – he started juggling flaming torches while everyone waited at the red light. He even did a trick where he tossed one under his leg! It was wild, and the police department posted it because, well, it’s not something you see every day.
The unexpected performance lasted about 40 seconds, after which the performer quickly left, surprising drivers and becoming a hit on social media. While police acknowledged the skill involved, they weren’t happy about the disruption.
Okay, so this is amazing! The police posted about this unicyclist who was fire juggling at the intersection of 85th and 60th – seriously, it sounds like something you’d see in Vegas! They said they got tons of calls from drivers who were totally entertained – and maybe a little surprised – by the show. I wish I’d been there!
Police say fire-juggling unicyclist wasn’t ticketed
Police said the performance was well-executed but unlawful. They explained that the performers trespassed onto the median and blocked traffic by staying in the crosswalk.
The department stated they’d never received a report like this before, and asked everyone to acknowledge the individual’s skill while agreeing to avoid similar situations in the future.
The online post caused a lot of discussion, with people disagreeing about whether the police overreacted or if they were right to appreciate the unicyclist’s originality. Police later explained that they didn’t issue a ticket and were primarily concerned with the unicyclist’s safety.
Please, everyone, relax. We didn’t issue him a ticket,” they said. “We just didn’t want anything bad to happen, so we asked him to move. He’s better off performing his show somewhere other than the street.”
It’s currently unknown if the unicyclist who juggles fire will be allowed a designated, safer performance area. However, his quick show at a traffic light clearly entertained drivers and even the police officers who had to stop him.
