ARC Raiders is definitely not a realistic game, and one player experienced that firsthand. While playing, he shouted for help, and actual police officers showed up at his door! It seems a neighbor, worried by his cries, had called 911.
The player who was unexpectedly saved from a difficult situation shared the story on Reddit. The user, known as YoMopho, was staying at a motel and started playing ARC Raiders to enjoy the game with others.
He received significant damage in the game (specifically, his character did), and exclaimed, “Help, I’m finished, please revive me, I’ve been shot, please get me back up!”
Around ten minutes after requesting help from fellow fans, police arrived at his motel room, responding to a report of a shooting. After he explained the situation, the officers determined it was a misunderstanding and left his room.
Following a comment, the original poster explained more about how the officers reacted. Initially, they seemed shocked, but after seeing the PlayStation 5 and headphones, they didn’t seem to care much.
GamesRadar+ learned that the player hadn’t played a game in a while, and that might be why he was so enthusiastic while playing ARC Raiders online.
Honestly, I hadn’t played anything in ages, but I downloaded Arc Raiders when the government shut down – that was from October 1st to November 12th, 2025, by the way – just to take my mind off everything. The last few months have been super stressful, and I really needed a distraction, as YoMopho put it.
The popular shooting game recently got an update that includes a unique punishment for players who cheat.
