Pokimane Exposes Twitch Employee’s Creepy Fake Relationship Scam to Manipulate Women

Pokimane alleges that a Twitch staff member leveraged their position to exert manipulative influence over women within her community, creating a false romantic involvement with her.

Back in March 2023, I unveiled a shocking truth – someone in the live-streaming world had been fabricating a fake romance with me, all for their twisted manipulation tactics. Unfortunately, I couldn’t disclose the identity of this deceiver, nor the company they were affiliated with.

In her April 19th edition of the Sweet n Sour podcast, shared alongside streamer LilyPichu, she disclosed additional information.

In the latest podcast installment, I’m sharing my perspective on a fascinating claim: someone who seemed to be from Twitch’s public safety team and served as a moderator on Poki’s channel was allegedly this mystery man.

Pokimane reveals Twitch incident

I’d like to share a story about someone I knew who was instrumental at Twitch. He was a key figure in the security and safety department, where he played a significant role in developing tools such as automod that streamers rely on. Not only did we use these tools, but I and many of my friends had interactions with him too. Given his extensive work within the community, he built a strong reputation and an impressive network. To top it off, he was even one of my moderators.

Poki mentioned that the individual in focus collaborated frequently with numerous female streamers and made efforts to remove online communities spreading inappropriate content about them.

In 2023, it was disclosed by her manager and attorney that the man had been falsely portraying a romantic and intimate relationship with Pokimane. This fabricated relationship served as a tool for him to control other women.

She stated that this individual often interacted with women in our community, appearing to be well-known due to his connections with several streamers. He’d initially establish friendships with them, then discuss his feelings of depression or suicidal thoughts. This tactic elicited sympathy from the girls, who would offer their assistance in return.

Later on, he’d often bring up a fictitious relationship between us. He claimed that I was mistreating him emotionally, romantically, and in other ways. He asserted that we used to rendezvous at hotels during TwitchCon events.

Pokimane clarified that she had never personally interacted with the man, and he was sharing altered screenshots of their supposed chats with other women.

Initially, he’d try to win their empathy by suggesting, “Poki often speaks like this to me, and we share a special bond,” which was clearly evident as the girls reacted, “Oh my goodness, she’s mistreating you, this isn’t right.

In my experience as an enthusiast, this individual I’ve never interacted with would often escalate our casual discussions on Discord to a whole new level by digitally altering messages containing inappropriate suggestions that were borderline intimidating, such as propositions for hotel meetings. This behavior, coming from someone unknown to me, was disturbing. Over time, he seemed to cultivate an image of himself as a victim in the eyes of the girls, making them feel compelled to protect him from me. Eventually, his intentions shifted towards pursuing romantic relationships with them.

As a gamer, I found myself crossing some uncomfortable boundaries – perhaps dabbling in manipulation or extortion. I’d even go as far as sending fake and inappropriate images to certain individuals, hoping they’d reciprocate by sending me their own photos. To make matters worse, since I was working at Twitch, I would also share a portion of my earnings with some of these women.

Following the story’s narration, Pokimane disclosed that since the man was deeply integrated within the platform and her online community, her carefully crafted “safe space” online had been significantly blemished.

She expressed, “I hesitated to press the start broadcast button because I feared that someone nearby might have such control over people in my local community. For quite some time, this incident made streaming unpleasant for me; it was only after a considerable period that I felt comfortable streaming again.

Following the announcement, the celebrity and her representative decided to bring the matter up on Twitch. They initiated a probe that continued for about two months. During this period, it was necessary for her to maintain the man within her circle to prevent him from learning about the ongoing investigation.

During that period, the gentleman informed their group chat that he was leaving his role following a new job offer at Riot. Subsequently, Pokimane claims to have contacted Riot to alert them about his conduct after the probe had concluded.

As a devoted fan, I’d like to share that the streamer openly communicated her actions following the man’s termination. She extended support to all the women who had received questionable messages from him by verifying that those messages were digitally manipulated. Furthermore, she made it clear that if any of these individuals ever felt concerned about their safety in the future, she would personally cover the costs for additional security measures.

Following a discussion with her attorney, Pokimane stated that she had limited options for taking further legal action against him.
