Pokimane publicly criticized another creator who had previously made romantic advances towards her and suggested getting coffee. She pointed out the irony of this behavior given he recently announced his engagement on Instagram.
The Twitch streamer shared a TikTok video explaining that a man had been contacting her and requesting to meet up. She was surprised to learn he was engaged, as she hadn’t known he was in a relationship until seeing the announcement on social media.
Pokimane said they first connected while filming a YouTube video. They then started following each other on Instagram and would casually interact by responding to each other’s stories.
He repeatedly asked me to visit him, but I prefer not to travel for dates. I suggested we meet if he ever came to Los Angeles. He did end up planning a trip here, and we exchanged numbers to arrange a meeting. However, I got too busy to make it happen, and he left town before we could connect, so we never got together.
“No joke, a month after we were going to meet up, he posts his engagement on Instagram.”
When Pokimane found out he was engaged, she contacted his future wife directly. To be open and honest about the situation, she shared their private conversations with her.
Pokimane says her fiancée agreed the man’s actions were wrong, but emphasized that Pokimane wasn’t at fault because she was unaware of the engagement.
She said, ‘He never let on that he was seeing anyone, so I can’t fault you for not knowing.’
Pokimane didn’t name the creator or share any screenshots publicly.
