Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket’s Johto-focused Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion releases on July 29

The Pokemon Company has unveiled the latest significant expansion for the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, named “Wisdom of Sea and Sky”. This new set is scheduled to hit shelves on July 29th.

In simpler terms, this update will introduce characters and Pokémon from the Johto region (seen in Pokémon Gold and Silver for Game Boy Color, as well as HeartGold and SoulSilver on DS), including Baby Pokémon like Pichu and Cleffa. For the first time, basic cards for these baby Pokémon will be included. The developers have not yet revealed how they plan to manage the evolutions of these specific characters into Pikachu and Clefairy.

Similarly to previous significant extensions following game releases, such as Space-Time Smackdown for Sinnoh’s Gen IV or Alolan Celestial Guardians for Gen VII, this collection will come in two distinct boxes featuring Ho-Oh and Lugia, respectively.

In Wisdom of Sea and Sky, the newest expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, slated to release on July 29, 2025, at 11:00 p.m. PDT, two extraordinary Pokémon from the Johto region – Lugia and Ho-Oh – make their entrance! Accompanying them are the charming first-partner Pokémon Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile, along with well-known trainers hailing from the Johto region.
