The Pokémon Company teamed up with Mexico’s famous wrestling organization, CMLL, to create an exciting event celebrating the upcoming game, Pokémon Legends: Z-A. It was a fun mix of popular culture and the thrilling world of lucha libre.
The wrestling show, which was free to watch on YouTube and took place in Mexico, had a special Pokémon theme. The arena was decorated for Pokémon fans, and popular characters like Pikachu and Eevee even made appearances! The main event was an exciting match where Team Hawlucha (Místico, Máscara Dorada, and Titán) battled Team Machamp (Volador Jr., Hechicero, and Bárbaro Cavernario) in a best-of-three contest.
The event wasn’t just visually impressive; the wrestlers’ costumes actually transformed them into Pokémon characters. Místico wrestled dressed as Hawlucha, Hechicero as Machamp, and others represented popular Pokémon like Gengar, Sylveon, and Togepi.

With excitement growing for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, fans are hoping for more details about the game. The initial trailers show beautiful graphics and interesting gameplay, but players are still wondering about key features – like how much freedom they’ll have to roam around Lumiose City. They’re also curious if the game will have a strong connection to Pokemon X and Y, even though it’s on different consoles, and if it will include new regional Pokemon variants or cooperative play like we saw in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
Pokemon Legends Z-A is set to release on October 16 for Switch and Switch 2.
