In Japan, a Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) store was targeted by an individual who is said to have been the manager of another nearby TCG shop.

Lately, another burglary occurred at a store specializing in Pokemon cards. Interestingly, the suspect didn’t seem to be an ordinary individual, but rather, it appears to have been an employee from a neighboring Trading Card Game (TCG) store.

On July 9, 2025, a 35-year-old man was apprehended by the Japanese authorities, suspected of committing a robbery, as initially noted by Automaton.

At first, the police didn’t provide additional information, yet this hasn’t deterred the store owner from going a step beyond, apparently exposing the suspected thief’s identity on social networking sites.

It’s interesting to note that the individual who was recently apprehended happens to manage another Trading Card Game (TCG) store situated in the very same area, only a few streets apart. This other establishment, like the one under scrutiny, deals primarily with Pokemon cards and One Piece merchandise.

Not only did the manager of that store allegedly steal merchandise worth around $94,000, which included cash and Pokemon cards, but they were also accused of menacing the owner of the trading card shop with a knife.

It appears that the individual was not acting alone; he was one of three individuals linked to the case who were taken into custody. The authorities had previously apprehended two of his associates.

The original post on X, which gained widespread attention, additionally disclosed that other suspects linked to the robbery remain at large and unapprehended.
