During the recent Pokemon Presents event, The Pokemon Company unveiled several new features coming soon to the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket. Additionally, it was announced that the popular mobile version of the game has now been downloaded over 100 million times.
At the Pokemon Presents event, they unveiled the Triumphant Light expansion, a theme centered around Arceus. This expansion introduces new “ex” Pokemon cards, trainer cards, and engaging cards. Additionally, certain cards now have Link abilities that enhance them when either an Arceus or Arceus “ex” card is in play. The Triumphant Light will be released tomorrow, on February 28th.
In October last year, Pokemon TCG Pocket was released and made TopMob’s list of top mobile games for 2024. Since then, it has consistently received updates, and its latest enhancements commemorate Pokemon Day 2025 while also expanding the game’s offerings. The closing moments of the Pokemon Presents trailer and a press release on the event give further insights into upcoming improvements for Pokemon TCG Pocket. In honor of Pokemon Day, two promotions are currently taking place.
Starting now up until 10:59 PM Pacific Time on April 29th, gamers can acquire booster packs containing at least one four-star rarity or superior card for free by simply logging into the game. Additionally, exclusive special missions will be accessible within the game from 10 PM Pacific Time on February 27th to 10:59 PM Pacific Time on March 26th. Furthermore, a sneak peek was given that Ranked Matches could potentially debut in Pokemon TCG Pocket around March, enhancing the competitive aspect of the game.
