Pokemon TCG Pocket offers free cards to all players, but they’re easy to miss

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours logged into the world of Pokemon TCG Pocket, I can wholeheartedly attest to the thrill that comes with acquiring free, meta-defining cards! While the Genetic Apex packs are certainly tempting, they’re not the only avenue for snagging those coveted Trainer cards.

Every player dreams of acquiring free Pokémon Trading Card Game pocket cards, particularly when the cards up for grabs are considered ‘meta’, which refers to cards that are currently popular and effective in gameplay.

With Pokemon TCG Pocket, you can open two complimentary Genetic Apex packs each day. However, there are other methods to acquire sought-after cards. One alternative is to try out the Premium Pass during its free two-week trial period. This also awards some free boosters. Additionally, engaging in battles and advancing your level can also lead to obtaining more cards.

However, this easy-to-miss tutorial nets you five free cards, four Shop Tickets, and two rental decks. So, before spending your hard-earned Pack Points on any cards, check out how you can add these meta Trainer cards to your collection.

  • Potion: Heal 20 damage from one of your Pokemon).
  • X Speed: During this turn, the Retreat Cost of your Active Pokemon is one less.

  • Pokedex: Look at the top three cards of your deck.
  • Handscope: Your opponent reveals their hand.
  • x4 Shop Tickets
  • 2x Wigglytuff rental decks

It’s worth mentioning that Potion, X Speed, and Red Card are essential components in every meta deck within the Pokémon TCG Pocket. Cards from the Trainer set, such as those that heal your Pokémon or lower their escape costs, are consistently valuable due to their utility. Meanwhile, the Red Card holds a significant impact, often determining the outcome of games on its own.

This is especially true if you manage to shuffle any ex or important supporters into their Deck – we’re looking at you Mewtwo ex! So, now that you know how to get some free Trainer cards, be sure to check out how the upcoming Pokemon TCG Pocket Venusaur event could shake up the meta.
