To clarify, ‘Copy Anything’ isn’t analogous to ‘Genome Hacking’ of Mew, for instance. This move enables players to pick one of their opponent’s Pokemon and opt for a specific move as an attack. But it’s important to note that the player must possess the exact quantity of Energy in the appropriate type.
As someone who has been collecting and playing Pokémon TCG for over two decades now, I can confidently say that understanding the energy requirements for each attack is crucial to building a successful deck. For instance, if my Ditto card attempts to utilize Celebi ex’s “Powerful Bloom” ability, it necessitates one Grass Energy and another of any type to execute the attack. However, if my Ditto resides in a Fire-type deck, I must acknowledge that it will never be able to successfully use the attack due to the energy mismatch. This is just one example of the intricate mechanics that make the Pokémon Trading Card Game so engaging and challenging, even for seasoned players like myself.
However, Ditto ex could reimagine this card, giving Ditto a leveled-up version of “Copy Anything”.
Ditto ex could use a player’s deck instead of copying opponents
Copying an opponent’s Pokémon exactly using a move might add an intriguing twist, however, it may encounter issues similar to those related to energy limitations.

For instance, with Ditto active on the field, if you possess a Charizard ex in your hand, Ditto could transform without being hindered by Charmander or Charmeleon.
By employing Ditto in this fashion, players could potentially experiment with formidable cards that often find it challenging to overcome swift attackers such as Pikachu ex and Celebi ex, given the abbreviated setup period.
Without any updates on the upcoming Pokémon TCG Pocket expansion, introducing a new Ditto EX card featuring a move that enhances the strengths of Stage 1 and Stage 2 Pokémon could bring an exciting twist and innovative strategies to battles.
