As a seasoned Pokemon TCG Pocket player with countless hours logged into battles and tournaments, I can confidently say that the upcoming Venusaur event has my heart racing with excitement! The prospect of acquiring two powerful promo cards, especially the rare Venusaur one, is simply irresistible.

The Pokemon TCG Pocket Venusaur event is right around the corner and it features two extremely powerful cards that can counter the best decks.

Based on recent reports, it appears that the Pokemon TCG Pocket game is planning to introduce a new Solo Battle drop event starring Venusaur on November 29, 2024. This event will work similarly to the previous Lapras ex drop event, where players engage in battles against an intelligent AI-controlled deck for the opportunity to receive exclusive promo cards as rewards.

What makes this event particularly thrilling is that it features not one, but two opportunities to obtain special promotional cards. These card drops are definitely worth checking out, especially for those aiming to combat the dominance of Mewtwo ex decks in the game’s online version.

Initially, we have the Venusaur promotional card, which is the least common prize from the event. Similar to Lapras ex, the Venusaur promotional card will appear approximately 12.66% of the time. But if fortune favors you and you manage to secure a few of these potent cards, you’ll be well on your way to triumph.

Beyond boasting stunning artwork representing the legendary Gen 1 Grass type, it also boasts an impressive 160 HP, making it one of the sturdiest Pokémon in the entire TCG Pocket collection, trailing only slightly behind Venusaur ex with its 190 HP.

Beyond its already formidable strength, Venusaur boasts another potent move – Mega Drain. This skill inflicts 80 points of harm on your adversary, yet restores 30 points to Venusaur itself. Combine this with Erika’s 50-point healing and a follow-up 20-point recovery from the Potion, and you have the ingredients for an invincible card.

Four energy needs might appear high, but Lilligant can expedite this by providing one Grass energy to your sidelined Pokemon. Although Venusaur ex is superior to the event Venusaur promo card, it can withstand a 150 damage hit from Mewtwo ex decks.

In the right situations, you could potentially defeat Mewtwo ex within just two moves, which is impressive given it’s not an ‘ex’ card itself. The next Pokemon to watch out for is Greninja. Despite its seemingly modest appearance, its Water Shuriken Ability has the potential to determine entire games.

Having Greninja as a reserve and inflicting an extra 20 damage alongside your currently active Pokemon is incredibly powerful. You can even swap Greninja into the active position and deal 60 damage blows to enemy cards (requires one energy), then move it back to the bench.

If you’re finding it frustrating getting knocked out by Mewtwo ex and are looking for an effective response, or if you’d like to test the waters before diving into a complete Venusaur ex deck, then you might want to take advantage of this drop event to gather resources.
