As a seasoned gamer with decades of card game experience under my belt, I can confidently say that Pokemon TCG Pocket has certainly taken the concept of rarity to new heights – or should I say, new dimensions? The introduction of Immersive Cards, complete with their animated art, has added an exciting layer to the chase for those elusive, rare cards.
In essence, Pokemon TCG Pocket is derived from the original, physical trading card game, yet it possesses several similarities while also boasting unique characteristics. One notable difference is the variation in card rarities.
In both cases, they use symbols and terms that indicate the scarcity of cards within a particular set. These symbols suggest the likelihood of finding these cards when opening booster packs.
In TCG Pocket, there are eight unique rarity levels, one of which is exclusive to the digital version – Immersive Cards. These special cards showcase artwork that extends past the card’s edges when examined closely, creating a visual narrative. Immersive Cards are the sought-after cards in the initial set of TCG Pocket, Genetic Apex, along with the top-tier Crown rarity cards.
Here’s everything you need to know about rarities and their respective pull rates per pack.

Rare Packs
As a gamer, just like I’d get a whiff of that special pack in the real-world Trading Card Game, there’s a possibility in my Pocket version to stumble upon a Rare Pack. These are the equivalent of God Packs in the original game, and let me tell you, the odds of opening one are as slim as finding a unicorn in the wild – roughly 0.05%.
At first glance, Rare Packs appear indistinguishable from regular boosters, making it impossible to determine if a chosen pack is the rare version or not. However, upon opening, you’ll notice that Rare Packs never include cards with a rarity lower than one star. The probability of obtaining each rarity level, ranging from One Star to Crown, applies to every slot in these special packs.
In simpler terms, a Crown rarity card is five times more likely to appear in any slot within a Rare Pack as opposed to regular packs. Conversely, the probability of drawing a Crown rarity card from the last slot alone in standard packs is just 0.053%.
See the table below for Rare Pack pull rates.
