As a seasoned Pokemon Trainer with over two decades of card battles under my belt, I must say that the Grass-type decks in Pokemon TCG Pocket have truly captured my heart! Coming from someone who started their journey with Bulbasaur and Venusaur, it’s a delight to see these beloved creatures reign supreme in the competitive scene.
The variety of strategies available within the Grass type is astounding – from Venusaur ex’s ability to heal and outlast opponents, to Exeggutor ex & Victreebel’s cunning switches that can turn the tide of battle, and Celebi ex & Serperior’s reliance on luck but potential for massive damage.
Each deck has its quirks and challenges, much like training a team of Pokemon in the Kanto region. And let’s not forget the thrill of pulling those elusive cards from daily packs – it brings back memories of my childhood, eagerly opening booster packs in hopes of finding that rare holofoil Venusaur!
Now, if only I could find a way to make my real-life Charmander evolve into Charizard as easily as drawing Celebi ex in Pocket… Maybe if I keep flipping enough Heads with Powerful Bloom, the universe will oblige! 😉
In simple terms, the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) Pocket offers some extremely potent decks primarily based on Pokémon types like Grass. These decks can either weaken opponents by draining their health or reinforce your own team members by restoring their health, enabling them to endure longer than the opposing team.
In the world of Pokemon Pocket, it’s noticeable that Dragon and Metal types are scarcely present, but Grass types are more abundant. For free players, building a potent Grass-focused deck is achievable, given they regularly open their daily card packs, ensuring a good number of Grass Pokemon for use.
In the competitive Pokémon Pocket scene, some elite decks lean towards the Grass type. Mythical Pokémon and long-standing starter evolutions currently hold the crown among these Grass-based decks. As of the Mythical Island expansion, here are some top-notch Grass decks in Pokémon Pocket.
Venusaur ex
Venusaur ex was the best Grass deck in the Genetic Apex era of Pokemon Pocket and it continues to see a lot of play. Here’s the best Venusaur ex deck available:
- x2 Venusaur ex
- x2 Ivysaur
- x2 Bulbasaur
- x2 Petilil
- x2 Liligant
- x2 Poke Ball
- x2 Potion
- x2 Erika
- x2 Professor’s Research
- x2 Sabrina
Of course, the goal here is to bring out Venusaur-EX swiftly. Erika’s presence in this deck facilitates that by healing 50 points of damage to any Grass-type Pokémon, ensuring our team stays in the game longer.
After bringing out Venusaur ex, players should continue attacking with Giant Bloom as this move doesn’t just inflict 100 points of damage, but also heals 30 HP to Venusaur ex. This enables Venusur ex to overcome even the most formidable opponents in the game.
Exeggutor ex & Victreebel
Having grown up in a world where Pokemon has been a significant part of my childhood memories, I must say that two of the most unexpectedly effective Gen 1 Pokemon I have encountered are Exeggutor ex and Victreebel. Over the years, I’ve dabbled in various strategies and deck configurations, but this particular combination stands out as one of the most potent evolution-themed decks I’ve ever come across.
The synergy between these two Pokemon is truly remarkable, and it has been instrumental in countering other evolution-based decks that I’ve encountered during my gaming sessions. Their setup, which punishes opponents who rely heavily on evolutions, offers a unique advantage that keeps me coming back for more. If you’re looking to shake up your Pokemon TCG gameplay and gain an edge over your opponents, give the Exeggutor ex & Victreebel deck a try – it just might become your new go-to strategy!
- x2 Exeggutor ex
- x2 Exeggutor
- x2 Exeggcute
- x2 Victreebel
- x2 Weepinbell
- x2 Bellsprout
- x1 X Speed
- x2 Poke Ball
- x1 Sabrina
- x2 Erika
- x2 Professor’s Research
- x1 Giovanni
Victreebel’s ability to swap an opponent’s Active Pokémon with one from their bench using its Fragrance Trap Ability can be incredibly disruptive to certain decks. This is particularly true if the opponent’s deck primarily evolves Basic Pokémon, as it results in free advantages for the player.
As an ardent admirer, I’d like to highlight the immense potential Exeggutor has for dealing significant damage, particularly among its bulky Stage 1 counterparts in Pokémon. The Tropical Swing attack is a real game-changer, requiring merely 1 Energy and doling out 40 damage, but if fortune smiles upon us with a Heads flip, it can escalate to an impressive 100 damage! This could potentially fell two robust Pokémons, making it a powerful asset in the right circumstances.
Celebi ex & Serperior
Celebi ex & is currently considered the best Grass deck in Pokemon Pocket. However, it comes with the caveat of it being heavily dependent on RNG. Here’s the best Celebi ex deck available:
- X2 Celebi ex
- X2 Snivy
- X2 Servine
- X2 Serperior
- X2 Dhelmise
- X2 Poke Ball
- X2 Potion
- X1 X-Speed
- X2 Erika
- X2 Professor Research
- X1 Sabrina
This strategy aims to place Serperior on the bench and Celebi ex in the active position. The reason being that Serperior’s ability doubles the number of coin tosses when Celebi ex performs Powerful Bloom, thus increasing its effectiveness.
As a gamer, I’ve found that relying too heavily on getting a Stage 2 Pokemon out and the Heads needed for Powerful Bloom in my Celebi EX & Serperior deck can make it prone to falling apart rapidly. However, once this setup is successfully achieved, the damage it can dish out is truly monstrous, capable of annihilating even colossal ‘Mons like Gyarados EX.
